Over the years we have acquired many pieces of fine quality Talavera Pottery and Southwestern Ceramics in the Mata Ortiz and Casas Grande style. These have been much admired by those who have visited our homes as these pieces have been an important part of each homes décor. Over the course of the past few years we have created exciting business relationships with organizations throughout Mexico.

With this as a background, we have established Galleria Elegante as a means of sharing our love and passion for the elegant ceramics and pottery art that are available from Mexico today with our friends and family.
Galleria Elegante is pleased to feature the favored Talavera products from the best known “fabrica” in Puebla, Uriarte Talavera.  This fabrica was founded by Senor Don Dimas Uriarte in 1824 and today they represent the finest Talavera available from Mexico and their adherence to specific quality standards have earned them the recognition as a "Certified Talavera Fabrica".

We also feature very fine quality Talavera products from a select group of “fabricas” that have emerged over the years and throughout the recent dramatic increase in consumer interest providing quality pieces in the traditional style of the finest fabricas in Puebla and more modern style Talavera from fabrica in other regions of the country.

Galleria Elegante is extremely happy to be able to present to our customers the museum level quality of Mata Ortiz ceramics. Steeped in the traditions of pottery from the now abandoned ancient city of Paquime, the modern day artisans of nearby Mata Ortiz and Casas Grandes produce some of the finest Southwestern pottery available in the world today.  No two alike, the pottery art of Mata Ortiz is based on the pre-Hispanic traditions of the ancient culture of Paquime.

Galleria Elegante selects only those pieces from artisans that represent the pinnacle of the art form.  Here we are in the 21st century selling handcrafted pottery art that is from a revival of a 14th century craft yet remains an affordable art that you can own and cherish.  Pieces can be found in museums and private collections around the world, including the US, Canada, Japan and throughout Europe.
